'What Are We Doing Here?' is a series of boutique salon style performances that collide words and music with ideas curated by the wind. Combined with the Moat's food, wine and bohemian atmosphere, we aim to create a space to breathe on the first Wednesday of every month.
From 6:15 pm - 7:15pm, our friends upstairs at The Wheeler Centre are hosting Fela Kuti: Opposite People, a panel discussion in honour of the African artist and activist who pioneered the sound and spirit of Afrobeat.
To help mark the 20th anniversary of Fela Kuti's death, we'll be following on with the celebrations downstairs at the Moat. Mix it up a bit and join us for a fun night of Yoruba beats courtesy of a stellar DJ line up (TBD), from 7:30pm until late. The perfect spot for Friday night drinks, a bite or two, and a delicious blend of jazz, funk and African soul.
